How to Use Pinewood Derby Tungsten Alloy Cubes?

Tungsten Alloy Cubes from Chinatungsten measure 1/4 inch on each side. Your 4 ounce shipment of Tungsten Cubes will contain 24 or 25 cubes.

Tungsten Cubes can be easily used for pinewood derby car weighting by drilling a series of 1/4 inch deep holes in the bottom of the car and then using a chisel or sharp knife to clean out the pocket. Since the Tungsten Cubes are very hard, do not plan to drill out any extra weight. Instead, use an alternate method to make fine adjustments such as adding/removing tungsten putty, beads, etc.

Weight is the most important thing about having a fast car. Two places to put your weight are the following:
1. In the back of your car, drill out one weight well that can fit 8 tungsten cubes, and a bigger one that can fit 12. Put the 8 tungsten cubes in the smaller one and the 12 in the bigger one. In the front of the car, drill out nine little holes, two sets of three holes in the front of the axle hole, and the other set behind the axle hole. Fill in ONLY 6 of the holes. If there were six holes, the car would be too heavy.
2. Dig out about a centimeter of wood (going towards the front of the car)and replace it with lead weight. Paint over the weight and the rest of the car. All your
